Managed the club for 13 years between 1967 and 1980, famously taking Bristol City into the top division in 1976.
He remained the club's boss throughout a four-year stay in the top flight and also took City victory in the 1978 Anglo-Scottish Cup, as well as the semi-finals of the League Cup back in 1971.
He left in 1980 before City suffered three successive relegations.
Dicks' only other management job in England was at Fulham, a one-season spell. The rest of his career was spent abroad in Greece, Cyprus, Qatar and USA.
He is still a regular attendee at Ashton Gate and is the only manager currently in the Hall of Fame.
