Club legend who first arrived at Ashton Gate in 1997, signed by John Ward from Premier League club Aston Villa.

Murray went on to secure promotion with the club within five months of his arrival, although relegation straight back to the third tier followed a year later.

A right-winger with trickery and pace in equal measure, Murray finished the 2002/03 season as the club’s top scorer. That prompted interest from Reading, who shelled out £650,000 for his services.

However, Murray wasn’t done at Ashton Gate and returned to the club in March 2004, just months before a play-off final defeat at the Millennium Stadium against Brighton & Hove Albion.

When he brought his City career to a close in 2009, Murray had made 426 appearances and scored 91 goals (joint-tenth in the all-time records).

Murray – once capped by Scotland B – continued his career with Yeovil Town and Bath City, before being offered the chance to become the club’s kit manager in 2012, a position he has held ever since.
