Williams has worked in the youth setups of Leyton Orient and West Ham United, before taking up the post of development coach at Brighton & Hove Albion.

During his time with the Seagulls, Williams was in charge of the club’s reserve team and Under-21s.

In 2013 Williams was appointed first team coach at Swindon, assisting Mark Cooper as the Robins reached the League One play-off final in 2015.

He also had spells assisting caretaker manager/chairman Lee Power and Martin Ling, before stepping up to take the job permanently in January 2016.

Williams left the County Ground in May and has now turned his attentions to developing City’s next generation of talented young players.
