Hemel Hempstead-born Woodrow made his breakthrough in football through Luton Town’s youth ranks, having previously trained with Tottenham Hotspur.

His only appearances for the Hatters came in the FA Trophy, but that didn’t stop him being called up by England Under-17s.

In 2011 Woodrow was signed by Fulham, then playing Premier League football, for a six-figure fee.

He captained the Under-18s, won the Dallas Cup with the Under-19s and then spent five months on loan at Southend United.

He made his Premier League debut in March 2014 but last season found first-team chances limited, prompting a loan switch to Burton Albion in January.

Woodrow scored five times in 14 appearances for the Brewers, playing a key role in their successful survival bid.
