Marley Watkins signed for City from Norwich City in June 2018 for an undisclosed fee and made his Robins debut against Bolton Wanderers in August 2018.

The Wales international penned a three-year contract at Ashton Gate to become the club’s first signing of that summer transfer window.

Watkins’ career began at Cheltenham Town, before an initial loan move to Bath City became a permanent switch in 2011.

A season at Hereford followed before a transfer to Scotland, where the striker helped Inverness Caledonian Thistle to fifth and third place in the Scottish Championship rankings. He also lifted the Scottish Cup in 2015.

Watkins then tasted League One play-off success and lifted the Football League Trophy in his first season at Barnsley before moving to Carrow Road, where he featured 27 times in the 2017/18 campaign.

He is the grandson of Welsh poet Vernon Watkins.
