Player Information

24 November 1984

Steele began his career with hometown club Peterborough United, where he came through the youth setup.

After just two appearances for the Posh, Premier League giants Manchester United splashed out £500,000 for his services.

A regular for the youth teams at Old Trafford, Steele was forced to go out on loan to gain regular senior football, notably with Coventry City.

Then in 2006 he signed for West Bromwich Albion as part of a cash plus player-swap deal that saw Tomasz Kuszczak join the Red Devils.

Steele had another loan stint at Coventry, before moving temporarily to Barnsley. It allowed the keeper regular game time once more – and he even played in the FA Cup semi-final for the Tykes at Wembley.

In 2008 he signed permanently for Barnsley and was still there until 2014, making over 200 appearances for the South Yorkshire club.

Steele moved to Greece to sign for Panathinaikos in 2014 and had been playing in the Greek Superleague before his move to BS3.
