Signed by Aston Villa at the age of 16 from Rapid Vienna, Weimann successfully progressed through the club’s ranks and was handed his full league debut in 2010.

The pacey forward went on loan to Watford in 2011 before returning to Villa Park, where he became a regular.

After eight years with the Midlands club, the Austrian took the decision to join nearby Derby County.

Following his first campaign with the Rams, appearances were restricted in the 2016/17 season, which triggered a temporary move to Wolves.

Upon his return to Pride Park, Weimann made 43 appearances, predominantly in a wide position, where he scored five goals.

The Austrian forward made his move to BS3 in July 2018 and he struck 10 times in his first season with the Robins, including that unforgettable hat-trick away to Sheffield United.

He scored a further nine goals and seven assists in 19/20, four of which came after the season restart in a more central midfield role.

Weimann has made over 100 appearances for the Reds, scoring 28. He is the Robins’ highest goal scorer this season with seven goals, he has also registered four assists.
