O'Dowda represents the Republic of Ireland who is often a wide man but is a player who can also sit centrally in midfield.

Martin O’Neill described him as the country’s future and City pipped several Championship clubs to his signature when he moved from Oxford United in July 2016.

He scored 12 goals, including one at Wembley, for Oxford United in 2015/16 as his hometown club won promotion to League One.

O'Dowda signed a new three-year deal in September 2019 as he went on to make 36 appearances over the course of the 2019/20 campaign.

The Republic of Ireland International has made over 150 appearances for the club after signing from his hometown club, Oxford United, back in 2016. He has scored ten and assisted 16.
