Bentley arrived at Ashton Gate in June 2019, penning a four-year deal from Championship rivals Brentford.

Basildon-born Bentley, signed for the Arsenal Academy as a child before making a name for himself at Southend United and he subsequently moved to Griffin Park in 2016.

The shot-stopper won promotion with Southend in the 2014/15 season, helping them reach League One via a heroic penalty shootout performance at Wembley.

It was a season of accolades for the keeper who was awarded the Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the year, Community Player of the Year, PFA Team of the Year League Two awards.

In February of that season, he received the Football League Young Player of the Month and in 2018 he received the London Football Awards London Goalkeeper of the Year award.

After signing in June 2019, Bentley went on to make 45 appearances in all competition during his debut 19/20 season with the Robins.

He has now played 112 games for the club, winning Player of the Year (as voted for by the fans) last season after swooping in a massive 70% of the votes.
