An England youth international with the Under-17s, Under-19s and Under-23s, Matthews played Champions League football with Bristol Academy.
In 2013 she was part of the team that finished runners-up in the WSL and FA Women's Cup.

What piece of advice would you have for aspiring female footballers? 'No pain no gain' Always follow your dreams and never give up
When did you start playing football and why? Ever since I can remember, I used to take a ball with me where ever I went. I starting playing because my brother and pap used to play
What do you bring to the team on the pitch? I would like to think a reliable centre half but I'm not sure everyone would agree with this
What do you bring to the team off the pitch? I would like to think someone fun to be around and always up for a laugh
What hobbies do you have outside football? Bike riding and going for food
What’s your best memory so far in your football career? Playing for England U19s in the Euros
