Former club captain Corinne Yorston has rejoined Bristol City Women on a one year contract.
Yorston is now in her third spell at the club having previously spent a combined eight years with the Vixens either side of a year at Arsenal.
The versatile defender was a part of the Bristol side which made it to two FA Cup finals and beat Barcelona in the Champions League, before she departed for WSL2 side Yeovil at the beginning of last season.
The former England international is delighted to be back, commenting: “It feels great, I’m really excited to be back. It feels like home.
“There’s a really good buzz around the club and the girls are really looking forward to the season ahead.
“Hopefully I can add my experience of playing WSL2 football and my experience of playing top flight football for many years to help the club get promoted back to WSL1.”
Vixens manager Willie Kirk is equally delighted to be welcoming back a fans’ favourite to the Stoke Gifford Stadium: "I am delighted to have brought Corinne back to the club. She showed an immediate enthusiasm to return as soon as I made contact, and it was very obvious from our first meeting how much this club means to her. There has obviously been a number of changes at the club in the 12 months that she has been away, but she is equally as excited as me about these.
“What she brings to the squad on and off the pitch cannot be underestimated and I am looking forward to working with her just as much as she is looking forward to playing and training alongside her teammates (new and old)! Her professionalism and work ethic is plain to see and it will definitely have a positive effect on all around her.
“She gives us a number of options on the pitch and she will be extremely important during this season and subsequent years."
