Club legend Corinne Yorston commits her future to the Vixens.
Thirty two year-old Yorston has made 88 competitive appearances for Bristol City Women since the WSL began in 2011 and has played at the highest level for both her club and country including being part of the FA Cup runner up squad in 2011 and 2013 with the then named Bristol Academy along with earning six senior caps for England.
Other highlights of her career include making her international senior debut for England Women’s Seniors v Germany; playing in the U-17s FIFA World Cup Quarter Finals v Canada, in Canada, in front of 30,000 Canadians; and captaining the Bristol Academy WFC team to the FA Cup Final and narrowly missing out on the FA WSL league trophy by three points.
“Despite her bad injury last season, Corinne’s return to the club was successful," said head coach Willie Kirk.
"She continued to do a fantastic job as club captain off the pitch and deserved promotion success as much as anyone.
"She was a big help to me throughout the year and continued to lead by example in the changing room and in the gym.
"She is now in the latter stages of her rehab and it will be a big boost for everyone if we can get her back on the pitch towards the end of the Spring Series."
Now in WSL1, Bristol City Women will open their campaign against Reading at Ashton Gate on Saturday, April 22nd (KO 6pm) before taking on Arsenal, Chelsea and current league champions Man City at the Stoke Gifford Stadium.
The Vixens will also come up against former teammates when they face Liverpool at home, with Sophie Ingle, Tash Harding and Caroline Weir now playing for the opposition.
Tickets will be available for all games online via Tickets.Bristol-Sport.co.uk shortly with season cards also on sale in the next few weeks.
