Bailey Wright has been named in the latest Australia squad for crucial World Cup qualifiers against Japan and Thailand.
The City skipper is one of 30 players called up by Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou ahead of the make-or-break fixtures.
Australia face Japan in Saitama on Thursday, August 31st before hosting Thailand in Melbourne on Tuesday, September 5th.
Australia currently sit third in their qualifying group and need to end up in the top two after these fixtures to qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Russia, otherwise they face a daunting play-off.
Wright, who has 18 caps for his country, featured heavily in the Confederations Cup during the summer.
