City Women’s match winner Ebony Salmon believes the winter break benefitted Bristol City Women as they picked up their first win of the Barclays FAWSL campaign with a 1-0 win against Manchester United.
Salmon has been revelation since joining City in the summer of 2019 and the youngster has often come up with some big goal in big moments for the Robins so far this season.
“We’ve come back in after Christmas and we’ve had a really good week in training and this was a tough game to come back into but we knew that if we put what we has done in training into practice on the pitch then we could get a result and we did that today, said Salmon.
“The end of the first half of the season didn’t go how we would have liked it too and we knew that we were better than what we were showing on game day, so coming into the game against United we knew we had something to prove and we did that today."
Sensational.

“I came out today always wanted to score, but it was always going to be the team first. When I got myself in that position there was only one thing on my mind and I managed to finish it which is what you want to be doing as a striker.
“That result gives us the confidence to kick on for the rest of the season to hopefully pick up more points and climb up the table.”
Bristol City Women travel away to face Chelsea at Kingsmeadow on Sunday, January 12th before welcoming Liverpool to the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium the following weekend on Sunday, January 19th (3pm).
