Wilson extends her stay with the Vixens

City Women can confirm today that defender Ellie Wilson has signed a new contract with the club.

Wilson, 20, joined the club in 2016 from Reading Women where she progressed through the Academy and Development Team making her First Team debut in 2014.

An England age-grade international, she has represented England at U19 and 20 level.

On the signing her new contract, Wilson is excited to continue her development under the guidance of Willie Kirk.

She said “I’m delighted to have re-signed with the Vixens as we embark on our journey back into WSL 1. I feel like I have developed as a player since I arrived here and I am looking forward to testing myself against the best players in England this season.”

“Willie and the coaching staff have really helped me develop my game since I arrived and I am looking forward to continuing that development and give my all to the team."

Willie Kirk is delighted to retain Wilson, due to her potential.

He added “I'm really excited about Ellie staying at the club. She has enormous potential and I'm hoping to be able to play a big part in shaping her future career and helping her to develop into the player that she wants to be.”

“Like most of the squad, Ellie is very versatile and in her case, will give us options in both full back positions and at centre back this season. She is very athletic and is continually improving her technical skills which is a testament to her attitude and desire to continually improve.”
