Ashley Williams is in line to face another former club when Swansea City make the trip across the border for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture.
The Robins head into the game six unbeaten in the league and with the best away record in 2019 across the top four tiers of English football, return to Ashton Gate in confident mood.
Centre-back Williams said: “It’s another derby and another former team for myself so hopefully I will play. It’s another game I will be looking forward to and one we want to win for many reasons, personally for me and for the team.
“It will be a difficult game, a completely different to the Stoke one, against a team that are doing really well this season. We will be ready, it’s at home and we want to win all of our home games so we will be going for it.
“The pleasing thing is the away form is excellent and I think that shows the mark of a team with good character straight away. That’s normally what you’re worrying about, the away form, but we seem to be doing well with that.
“In terms of our home form, we obviously want to make Ashton Gate a fortress, win every game there, or as many as we can, so we will be trying to do that this weekend.”
It’s fourth versus second in BS3 on Saturday and 22,000 supporters are guaranteed to be taking their seats for the top end of the table fixture.
Williams added: “I’m sure the atmosphere this weekend will be amazing. With it being a derby they will bring as many as they can and I’m sure our fans will make as much noise as they can as well.”
