Callum O'Dowda says City are beginning to master the ideologies of how they want to play football.
The winger has played a pivotal role in City's 2018/19 campaign, having featured in all five Championship matches so far.
He is now looking forward to playing his part back at Ashton Gate, where City host Blackburn Rovers on Sunday (September 2nd, 1.30pm).
"We have a big game on Sunday and the boys are really looking forward to it," the Republic of Ireland international to BCTV. "We’ve had a good week’s training and we’ve had some great results recently, two great wins [against QPR and Swansea City]!
"I think now, the philosophy is really starting to come out of how we are playing. You look at the way we played against Bolton, I thought we played some really good football but the result wasn’t what we wanted (2-2 draw) but I think now we’re starting to crack it."
Sunday's fixture with Rovers will be City's first home match for a fortnight, following those consecutive away trips to London and South Wales.
And O'Dowda is hoping City can make it three victories in a row with a first home victory of the season.
"I’m really looking forward to getting back to the Gate because away wins are good but it’s always nice doing it on your own turf with all the fans there.
"It’s nice to have away fans as well and credit to them. There’s something about Ashton Gate, its started to feel like a real home and I can say that for all the players.
"It has a great atmosphere and I’m really looking forward to getting back there." he said.
However, if you can't make it to the match, BCTV+ subscribers can watch it live through the official Bristol City app.
