Korey Smith feels the relationship between the Bristol City players will contribute towards a successful campaign in the Sky Bet Championship.
The midfielder was one of seven new signings last summer, and played a pivotal part in City’s double-winning season.
Former Oldham man Smith credited morale and hard work for last year’s successes, factors he considers could determine how City fare in 2015/16.
“We had a great season, and we’re all really close,” the 24-year-old told Bristol City Player HD.
“It’ll be really good to test ourselves and see what we can do.
“We just want to work hard together and have another successful season.”
City will travel to Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day of the season, with Hillsborough one of many stadiums in the Championship with a capacity of over 30,000.
Smith has experienced playing in big arenas whilst at Norwich City, and is excited by prospect of doing it again.
He said: “It’s what we worked so hard for last year – to go to all these amazing grounds and play against these very good players.
“It’s an amazing opportunity, one we’re really looking forward to and can’t wait for it to start.”
