Charlie Wellings has put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement to join Bristol City Women.
Striker Wellings will join City in July where she is reunited with Tanya Oxtoby, and the youngster aims to develop her game even further.
She is a graduate of Birmingham’s Centre of Excellence and has gone on to represent England at youth level, notably picking up the bronze medal at the FIFA Women’s Under-20 World Cup in 2018.
Speaking of her move, Wellings said: “With the way the club is going and the future we are looking to have, this is a really exciting time for me to come and be a part of that.
“I know Tanya from before and I love that she wants to take the club forward, I know how she works so she can have a massive impact on my future and improve me as a player.
“I spoke to Tanya about her staff and they’re really excited to have me on board too. They want to develop me as a player and that’s what I was looking for. I just want to become a better player and I see this as the best place to do that."
Supporters will remember Wellings from City's WSL fixtures against Birmingham, of which she featured in both games last season.
And Wellings says she was impressed by what she saw in Oxtoby's side.
She added: “City had good results last year and made it hard for Birmingham when I came down here as well. They gave us tough games, were tough to beat and I want to be part of that. We can kick-on next season and hopefully win something.”
