Weimann delight at double in Cardiff victory

Andi Weimann reflects on a memorable afternoon in South Wales, where his goals fired his team to a 2-1 win over Cardiff City.

The Austrian striker scored from a tight angle before restoring City's lead with a well struck volley in the second half.

The winner went down as his favourite of the two strikes, with Weimann telling Robins TV immediately after the game: "As soon as I hit it, I hit it clean and I knew it was in.

"Celebrating with the fans was brilliant. We knew we were in a good place but we needed the three points today, we did that and now we have two weeks to regroup."

This win means City have six points heading into the international break and bragging rights in the Severnside derby having proved themselves against a team who had been unbeaten prior to today's meeting.

"It means a lot to everyone," said Weimann. "The fans were chanting to us and we saw that in the game. Before this game we said we deserved more so we're happy with three points."
