Weimann congratulates Fit Robins participants

City fans had a surprise visit from Andreas Weimann during their end of programme presentation.

As the 12-week programme comes to an end, participants have now learnt how to live a healthy lifestyle, met new friends and formed groups that will continue to support one another in the future. On the final group weighing it was revealed that a massive 400 kilos in weight have been lost collectively across all four groups.

To celebrate the impressive weight loss, the participants had a tour around Ashton Gate Stadium and were surprised when Bristol City striker Andreas Weimann stopped by during their presentation to congratulate them on their fantastic weight loss and lifestyle changes.

FIT ROBINS Lead Coach Lee Gillett said: "It was amazing to complete our first 12-week program post the pandemic. The progress, support and friendship groups that have been created, will continue to grow as participants progress through their healthier lifestyle journey with us."

FIT ROBINS is a completely free health and wellbeing initiative which aims to promote healthy living and help City fans lose weight. The programme achieves this by helping participants:

  • Improve their eating habits by reducing portion sizes and swapping fatty and sugary foods for fruit, vegetables and high fibre foods
  • Achieve at least 45 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity on most days of the week. They receive weekly exercise sessions at their club for 12 weeks, and follow a personal pedometer-based walking programme that encourages them to fit physical activity into their daily lives
  • Use tried-and-tested behaviour change techniques to become more active and improve their diet. These include regular self-monitoring of their weight and pedometer step counts and setting SMART goals to make changes that can be sustained long term

Sign-ups for the next programme start on September 2nd.Β To find out more about the project please click here or to sign up please contact Lee Gillett
