Lee Johnson described City’s victory and attacking prowess as “fantastic” after a second-half goal glut put Derby County to the sword at Ashton Gate.
City trailed at the interval to Matej Vydra’s penalty kick but responded in perfect fashion after the break to seal all three points in style.
Cauley Woodrow and Bobby Reid turned the game on its head within ten minutes of the restart, before late strikes from Jamie Paterson and Famara Diedhiou put the seal on the win.
Speaking on BCTV, Johnson said: “It was a fantastic performance and I’m delighted for the lads at the end of a tough week.
“To come out with seven points from Reading away, Wolves away and Derby at home is outstanding – it could have been nine if we hadn’t conceded late on against Wolves.
“We made the right changes and, to a man, the players were fantastic. If anything, we looked the ones that we physically dominant towards the end, with the substitutions that we made.
“Even in the first half I thought we were the better side and definitely didn’t deserve to come in at half-time 1-0 down. My team talk was simple, we needed more of the same because I didn’t believe they would be able to concentrate with all the attacking threats we had.
“We asked for an energetic performance from the crowd and they produced that; in turn the players produced against one of the Galacticos of the division.”
