Lee Johnson says he can’t wait to hear the Bristolian roar at the Etihad Stadium tonight (7.45pm kick-off).
City will be backed by a sell-out away end of 7,680 fans – a figure that represents the largest-ever travelling support in the stadium’s 15-year history.
Many more supporters not fortunate enough to get a ticket will be watching back at Ashton Gate, while the match – City’s first appearance in a major cup semi-final since 1989 – will also be beamed around the world.
Johnson spoke of his pride at the support his players will receive in Manchester tonight when speaking on BCTV.
“It’s an incredible number and a record for the Etihad,” he beamed.
“We will do our very best to make everybody proud and we’re looking forward to hearing the songs and the noise."
“That’s a big win for us and the good thing is those supporters are making the journey because they believe there’s a chance we can win this game.
“They want to be the ones in attendance if we manage that.
“We will do our very best to make everybody proud and we’re looking forward to hearing the songs and the noise.
“They’ll be bringing Bristol to Manchester tonight.”
