Bristol City Women head coach Willie Kirk says he is immensely proud of the squad after Sunday’s win at Everton.
The Vixens travelled to Merseyside depleted on many fronts, but City Women ran out 2-1 winners thanks to 92nd minute winner from Julie Biesmans.
The City Women head coach wants to continue the momentum this weekend, as the Vixens travel to Taunton to take on Yeovil on Saturday (kick-off 12pm).
He said: “To go there and win like we did was fantastic to see. We faced many obstacles in the build-up to the match, but we overcame them all and got the result which is indicative of the spirit of this group.
“It was a hot day and we only had two substitutes, everybody put in an immense shift and we got our reward at the end.
“Considering our budget, our aim was to finish seventh this year and this win gives us a chance to do that.
“Our games against Yeovil are always tough and entertaining and I expect Saturday to be no different. It is one of the only games in the league calendar that we go into as favourites, it is a different sort of pressure, but one that we relish."
Kirk says the squad will welcome back a number of players for this weekend’s short trip down the M5.
He added: “Carla Humphrey is returning from concussion for Saturday, Jas Matthews is back from suspension and we will welcome Aimee Watson back into the squad, to name but a few players we will have available again.”
Tickets for City Women's remaining games are here.
