City Women head coach Lauren Smith was proud of the resilience shown by her side to come from behind and claim a 2-1 win against Lewes FC on Sunday.
Lewes opened the scoring midway through the first half when Ini Umotong's powerful strike bulged the back of the net which put the Rooks 1-0 up heading into the half-time break.
Abi Harrison levelled in style for the Robins as she let fly from 30 yards out to see her effort soar over the head of Lewes 'keeper Tatiana Saunders and bring the home side level.
City then had their opportunity to take all three points when Melissa Johnson was brought down in the box. Simran Jhamat stepped up to cooly slot home from the spot and hand City victory.
Pat Lam was full of praise for a rocking atmosphere at Ashton Gate as Bears secured a bonus point victory.
