Abi Harrison believes the City squad demonstrated grit and determination to secure three points with a 1-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
Abi Harrison netted her 11th of the season as her instinctive half-volley found the back of the 17th minute.
City had a few chances to put more past Blackburn but Harrison's goal was all that was needed to seal their first three points of 2022.
Speaking to Robins TV, Harrison said: "We showed a different side to us as we had to win in a dirty match and when you're 1-0 up you always let the other team have a sniff at it.
"Myself and a lot of the girls could have scored more today but at the end of the day it's three points. It feels like a gritty win but sometimes you have to win ugly and we showed girt and determination to do that."
Speaking on netting her 11th goal of the season, she added: "It helped the team get three points and it's another goal, so I'm happy."
City will travel to the Academy Stadium to take on Manchester City in the quarter-final of the FA Continental Cup on Wednesday, January 19th (7pm).
The Robins' next home game is against Charlton Athletic in the FA Championship at the Robins High Performance Centre on Sunday, January 23rd (3pm).
