Niclas Eliasson has praised the character of the Bristol City squad in coming from behind to claim a 2-2 draw against Middlesborough in BS3.
The Swedish wide man put in a Man of the Match display in his first start of the 2019/20 campaign and provided an assist for Kasey Palmer’s opener.
“Of course we wanted the three points but we showed good character to come back from 2-1 down, said Eliasson.
“It’s good to get the point but when we’re playing at home we always want to get three points, so we’re a little disappointed.
“It was great to get a start today, it’s always a little frustrating when you’re not playing but you’ve just got to keep working hard and show the manager that you want to be in the starting XI.
“I managed to get an assist today as well so I am happy, I haven’t seen Kasey score a header before so I was a little surprised at that but it was a good feeling, he added.
Eliasson also praised the Ashton Gate faithful for getting behind the squad and giving them the energy to come from behind to claim a point.
“The fans were great all game, even when we went 2-1 down they created a good atmosphere to give us the energy to come back into it.
“We have two weeks to prepare for Stoke City and we’re going to work hard. We’re still a new group with a lot of new players and we’re still learning about each other, so we’ve got work to do and the break comes at a good time.”
