‘We’re ready for Terriers test’ - Holden

City have to “stick together” says Dean Holden, whose belief in the squad remains high.

The head coach knows there is work to do as prepares his team to respond against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night, with the Robins without a win in their last five games.

City have created the opportunities up front, though Holden recognises his side have to tighten up in defence so as to find a way to recover their earlier form, despite injuries.

He said: “It’s always a positive when you create the amount of chances we have but what we need to do is keep the back door shut. We haven’t been doing that in recent times and we need to get back to doing that.

“We stick together, we work together every day…we have to keep improving. Behind the scenes we are working really hard to put things right and now I’m looking for a response on Tuesday.

“We look at everything, We’re light on numbers and that might dictate how we approach things moving forward so we have to look at everything, There’s no time for feeling sorry for ourselves…there’s work to do with two games in three days. It’s a test for us but we’ll be ready for it.”

Holden will be ready for the challenge, but he expects a tough test against an “energetic” Terriers side, who have scored in each of their last seven games.

He said: “They’re an energetic team, we know the manager has worked with Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United in the last year or two so they’re very similar with that energy and man-to-man in parts of the pitch, so it’s another obstacle we have to look to overcome.

“We need to get back to winning ways, back to basics but I have every belief in this squad. The test now for us is to get back to winning ways and we’re looking forward to this next one.”
