‘We’re looking to end the season on a high’ - Graham

Lucy Graham has hailed her team’s fighting spirit as they attempt to end their season on a high with back to back wins, starting with a victory over Liverpool tomorrow afternoon.

City Women travel to Prenton Park off the back of a three week international break and the midfield maestro predicts a tough challenge awaits the squad in the north east.

Ready for the challenge

“It’s sometimes tough in the middle of the season when there are international breaks but credit to the girls that have come back in, they’re fresh and ready to get going.

“It’s another tough game to challenge ourselves against and I think Liverpool are coming back off a few defeats so they’ll definitely be looking to pick up a few points, but so are we.”

Cementing fifth

“Sometimes it’s tough when you go away on a long journey, but we’re definitely looking to cement fifth place so we’ll be looking to get the win.

“To secure fifth we’re going to have to win these last two games which is a hard ask, but I know the girls are up for it, we’ve had really successful season so far and we’re looking to end it on a high.”

Stellar season

“I think I’ve landed on my feet here and that’s is credit to the club, staff and players, who have all been so welcoming and I’ve slotted right in.

“Again, I couldn’t have asked for it to go any better for me. I knew I was capable of it, I think it was just about being given that opportunity and I’m really thankful for the opportunity the club have given me and I have been able to express myself on the pitch.”

City Women mean business

“I think all the games we play in are really competitive and they can go either way, and I think as a team and club collectively we have stepped up and shown that we’re not a push over side and we’re competing hard for mid-table finishes.”
