Tommy Rowe insists he and his teammates are “ready to go again” as they look to edge closer to the Sky Bet Championship play-off spots.
In the wake of the club’s midweek defeat to Huddersfield Town, Rowe says the squad have worked tirelessly on the training ground as they prepare to visit The Den and return to winning ways (Saturday, 3pm).
“As you can imagine, coming back from the game on Tuesday night and the disappointment we left the stadium with, it’s been a case of getting back to a familiar place that we know and the training ground is the first place for that,” he said. “It’s where we get a lot of our work done and it’s where we get our confidence back.
“The majority of the team will have gone away directly after the game and done a little bit of soul searching, as well as going through the game, and we did that as a collective on Thursday.
“We have discussed what we need to do to get back to winning ways and that’s what we’re all here for. We’re all pulling in the right direction.”
The Lions currently sit three points behind Lee Johnson’s outfit and the experienced 31-year-old knows the Robins have the togetherness and quality to secure maximum points in the capital.
“I think we all know what it’s like to play at The Den,” Rowe continued. “We also know how good a team Millwall can be.
“They came to our place and they were energetic and had a great performance for 90 minutes but we know what we can do when we’re at our best.
“We’ve worked hard over the last couple of days getting that teamwork and togetherness back. That’s always an important thing and whether that be visually or going out and doing the physical work, I think we’re ready to go again.
“Where we sit in the league, it’s a nice position for us to get some results again and there’s no better way to do it than an away performance.”
The Robins will be backed by more than 1,200 supporters in the capital with the fixture pay on the day for away fans.
Bristol Bears will face Zebre and Perpignan in Pool A of the 2022/23 European Challenge Cup.
