Nigel Pearson praised City’s intent to claim all three points against play-off chasing Sheffield United.
City rounded off their Easter campaign with a share of the points against Sheffield United courtesy of Chris Martin’s early second-half goal that was cancelled out by Morgan Gibbs-White.
The draw secured the Robins four points from the games against Stoke City and play-off chasing Sheffield United.
Pearson told Robins TV: “We did everything that we could to try and win the game and the second half was quite exciting with both sides pushing to get three points. I thought the way our players approached the game was a very positive thing for us."
“In the first half we were quite wasteful with the ball – and you’ve also got to give credit to Sheffield United…they are a decent side who are pushing to get in the play-offs. We were unable to make the most of our possession. In the second half we were more creative and had some good chances in good situations.
“We were disappointed that we couldn’t get back-to-back wins but the performance was positive and four points over the two games is decent reward.”
Pearson went on to praise Chris Martin, who clocked up his 10th goal of the season while he also reflected on an ankle injury to Jay Dasilva - and more-than-able substitute in Ayman Benarous - as well as the precautionary replacement of Antoine Semenyo.
The Robins' next home game sees them travel to Pride Park to take on Derby County on Saturday, April 23rd (3pm).
The Robins' final home game sees them host Hull City at Ashton Gate on Saturday, April 30th (3pm).
