Lee Johnson has challenged his players to continue their promising start to March as they face up to a pair of tough away trips this week.
Bobby Reid fired a first career hat-trick and Josh Brownhill also got in on the act as City thrashed Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
The win lifted City back into the play-off zone after briefly slipping to eighth in the Sky Bet Championship earlier in the week.
The Robins now head to Preston North End tonight (7.45pm kick-off), before travelling to face battling Burton Albion on Saturday.
“We’ve made a good start to March and now we need to continue that,” Johnson told BCTV.
“We feel we can pick up points in the forthcoming games, but Preston is always a tough place to go.
“They were 1-0 down on Saturday and fought back to win 3-1, so will be buoyed by that.
“They have a very similar model to ourselves, signing young players and lower league ones.
“The new manager (Alex Neil) has gone in there and done well, building from where Simon Grayson left off.
“Notoriously we haven’t done very well there, so it’s a big test to see how far we’ve come. Hopefully the lads can stand up to it.”
On their last visit to Deepdale, eleven months ago, City were thrashed 5-0 by the Lilywhites.
Seven of the starting XI that night began Saturday’s win over the Owls, so boss Johnson believes his players will be out to right some wrongs.
He added: “It should be in their minds because you have to use every little motivational moment you can.
“I think the players who were there last season we want to put things right.
“It was certainly a low day for me and what I want to see, one year on, is how much we’ve progressed.”
