‘We need to find that cutting edge’ – Pearson

City turn their attentions to Luton Town on Wednesday night (September 15th, 7.45pm) with Nigel Pearson’s side in action for their second of three games this week.

The Robins manager oversaw a first clean sheet of the campaign after a 0-0 home draw with Preston North End on Saturday in what was an entertaining fixture.

It was another pleasing performance of positives but Pearson is keen to see his team “find the cutting edge at home.”

“The [home] win is still elusive but we’re confident it will come, we just have to make sure that firstly the performance is what we’re looking for,” Pearson told Robins TV.

“Last season when Luton came here we took a two-goal lead and we ended up losing that game. We know they’re a side who will pose us a few stern questions but we focus very much on ourselves and make sure that our preparation is right and we go out there and play as well as we can.

“The players know they are applying themselves in the right way, we just need to find the cutting edge at home. There were lots of positives [on Saturday] but it’s now making sure we are physically and mentally right for the next game.”
