Lee Johnson has spoken of the belief in his players to bounce back at home against Charlton Athletic on Wednesday night.
City return to Ashton Gate for the midweek encounter against the Addicks, four days after a disappointing defeat on the road to Luton Town.
Under the lights in BS3, Johnson says City have a “new opportunity” to show what they are about.
The City head coach said: “It’s a new game, a new opportunity. I’m looking forward to it, coming home and obviously we on the last home game (1-0 v Reading) after a bright opening 30 minutes and we want that again.
“The [Charlton] game is a typical tough Championship fixture but it’s one we are thoroughly looking forward to.
“The players, I think, to have a game a few days after the last one is important because there is a lot of pent-up frustration, and we want to put on a show.
“It was bad half against Luton but previously we’ve had 10 good 90 minutes and a good half so we know the players can do it, we believe they can bounce and notoriously they do quickly. I’m looking for an identity to our performance.
“You can never guarantee a result but you expect to guarantee the identity that people have become accustomed to seeing Bristol City play.”
