Mark Hughes has vowed to name a strong starting line-up for tonight’s Carabao Cup third round tie with City at Ashton Gate.
Premier League clubs regularly shuffle their pack for the cup competition, but Hughes has labelled the tournament a “priority” for the Potters.
Stoke made eight changes to their line-up when they thrashed Rochdale 4-0 in the last round, one less than City when they caused a cup shock by winning 3-2 at Watford.
Glen Johnson, Kurt Zouma, Charlie Adam and Peter Crouch are all expected to be involved, with the Stoke boss promising to bring his entire squad to BS3.
“There are a couple of players we feel we need to give a game, but we will still go strong,' Hughes said on stokecityfc.com.
“It is important that we progress in the competition, so we want to have a good run in it this season if we can.
“Zouma can't play on Saturday against Chelsea so he will be involved and we will go there with a team strong enough to give it a really good go.”
Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron are both expected to miss out through injury.
Tickets for the game remain on general sale, with prices starting at just £13 for adults and £6 for under-19s.
