The Robins boss was disappointed by her team’s defeat at the hands of Villa, but states her team have to pick themselves up quickly ahead of the visit of West Ham on Sunday.
“We’re disappointed with the result and performance. We controlled the game, I thought our shape was good and we had a load of possession and chances to get ahead, but we’ve played ourselves into trouble.
“They’ve taken their chance and the momentum of the game swings. From there we have to chase the game, because we’ve had to, we’ve changed the shape and then got caught on the counter going the other way.
“Credit to Villa I thought they were excellent in terms of managing the game and that’s an area we need to improve on.
“We did have a load of the ball and got into the final third but we weren’t clinical enough when we got in there. Villa had 4 or 5 shots on goal and they’ve scored four times.
“That’s the beauty of football, there’s another game. We can be disappointed over the next 24 hours and reflect but we need to go again on Sunday.
“It’s a marathon, not a sprint and we have a lot to play for still. We go again on Sunday.”
Bristol City Women take on West Ham United on Sunday, December 13th (2pm KO) and supporters can watch the action from Twerton Park live on the FA Player App.
