We Have More To Offer - Arthur

Chloe Arthur feels there is more to come from Bristol City Women after their 2-1 win over Millwall Lionesses in WSL2.

The midfielder played a major part in the opener as she fed captain Jodie Brett in the area who in turn teed up Millie Farrow to smash home from 12 yards.

Millwall’s Ashlee Hincks restored parity a minute later but Claire Emslie’s expertly-taken dink earned the Vixens a deserved three points.

The scoreline wasn’t as flattering as their superiority suggested and Arthur believes City have the ability to be more clinical and see teams off more convincingly.

“I thought our performance was great in terms of dominating possession,” she said.

“Every game is a battle and getting the three points was important especially after a couple of poor results.

"We went in at half-time with a positive attitude because we knew there was still plenty of time to win the game.

“Willie (Kirk) told us to believe in ourselves, enjoy keeping the ball and the goals would come - and one did! However, we still have more to offer in the final third."

City Women were cheered on by a strong crowd which included Bristol City’s new signing Lee Tomlin.

The 27-year-old is the latest of many of Lee Johnson’s side to attend a match at Stoke Gifford Stadium and their support hasn’t gone unrecognised.

“It was great knowing he came to support us,” Arthur said.

“Knowing the men’s team are backing us gives us a boost, so long may it continue.

City Women’s next match sees them travel to Durham on Sunday, 17th July.
