🎥 'We gave ourselves too much to do' - Pearson

Nigel Pearson spoke of his disappointment to concede three goals in a home defeat to Sunderland.

After falling behind early to an Ellis Simms strike, City immediately came back into the game through the talismanic Andi Weimann which saw the sides head into the sheds level.

The Robins were fast out of the blocks to begin the second half as Chris Martin handed the hosts the lead. However, two minutes later Simms had his second of the afternoon, which was followed by a header from Ross Stewart to wrap up all three points for the Black Cats.

Speaking to Robins TV, Pearson said: "It's frustrating after having such a positive pre-season and the mood around the place being positive too.

"I think we showed some good aspects of what we are but the goals we conceded were poor. We've started the season badly and that's not what we're looking for so we need a response in midweek now."

The manager also spoke about Matty James' injury, which ruled him out in the warm-up, the support from the fans and the need to have a collective resilience.
