‘We fought right to the end’ – Pack

Marlon Pack hailed City’s determination as a key factor in their strong 2018/19 season.

The campaign culminated in a 1-1 draw away to Hull City on Sunday, where the Robins secured 8th position in the Sky Bet Championship; their highest finish since 2008.

It was another season of progress and that gives Pack encouragement as he hopes for an even stronger 2019/20 campaign.

He said: “A shining point of our season has been how we’ve always kept going, regardless of how we are playing. We gave it our all to the final whistle and it’s a good sign for us as a club and a team.

“It’s been a privilege to play with these lads this year and to be a part of this great cub again. We fell short at the end so we’re disappointed, but we showed the progression we have made. We’re disappointed with the final outcome in the season.”

Reflecting on Sunday’s match, where the Robins concluded their season in a 1-1 draw at the KCOM Stadium, midfielder Pack continued: “Hull played well, they had nothing to play for and played with a sense of relaxation which is tough to play against. Once again we had good chances which we failed to take, they scored but we kept going to the end. We didn’t get the win, results didn’t go our way anyway so it’s disappointing not to get the win but we wanted to finish as high as possible.

“Progression on and off for this football club has been clear to see and it’s down to us to keep going and hopefully next season go one better.”
