‘We can’t take our foot off the gas’ – Lansbury

The visit of Stoke City to Ashton Gate on Good Friday (April 2nd, 3pm KO) sees the Robins return to BS3 for the first of the final eight games of the Sky Bet Championship season.

City head into that final stretch having moved into their state-of-the-art training complex, The Robins High Performance Centre, and Henri Lansbury’s aim is to end the season strongly with morale high as the squad settle into their new surroundings.

Lansbury told Robins TV: “It’s beautiful. We’ve been training on the pitches in the last few weeks but to finally get in the building is a massive lift for everyone.

“Now we have to go and win every game coming and end the season on a high, it’s what the Gaffer has installed in us and now we have to try and do that.”

Lansbury says the squad have to make Ashton Gate “a fortress”, a well-known cliché but he knows the task at hand as City look for improved results at home.

“We have to play with a bit of flair as well and, if we can get that going, it can be a tough place to come to,” the midfielder said with the Potters set to arrive at the end of the week.

“It’s a tough game, as every game is so we have to apply ourselves right and go out for the three points.

“Every game is tough and you can never take your foot off the gas. We’re expecting a challenge but we have to go out there and play our football and try to get the three points.”

He also acknowledged the Fans Third Shirt, which the players will wear for the Good Friday test. It bears the name of 5,434 loyal supporters with each name written across the front and back of the predominantly white shirt. It will be worn by the players against Stoke, as well as away to Millwall next month.

Lansbury said: “The fans are the club and they make us tick. We miss them so much not being in the stadium, so we’ll wear the shirt with pride and hopefully get three points for them.”

The match against Stoke City will be streamed live on Robins TV, with the matchday show starting at 2.30pm. Striker Chris Martin will join as guest and pundit.
