Markus Henriksen “can’t wait to get started” as he embarks on the latest chapter of his career.
The midfielder, a Norway international, has joined the Robins on loan from Hull City until the end of the season.
“I’m really excited to join Bristol City,” the 27-year-old said, following his January deadline day move. “This club plays nice football so when I heard about the interest I was buzzing and I’m really looking forward to this challenge.
“I found out about a potential move quite late. I knew of the interest but everything happened quickly yesterday (Thursday). What excited me about the move was the way City think about football, the way they play, they have fought for promotion for a couple of seasons and you can see they are building an exciting team every year. The manager has a philosophy and he has really good talented players.”
Henriksen knows what it takes to play in the top flight and that’s his aim during his time at City with 18 league matches remaining.
He added: “It’s a beautiful city, a great stadium, this club is starting to be one of the top clubs in the Championship and I felt triggered to help the team to achieve the goals of playing in the Premier League.
“I can’t wait to get started, to be fair…I believe this team and this club can do big things this season.”
