‘We are working for each other’ – Williams

Ashley Williams says City can be “pleased” knowing they have nine points from their last possible 12, now with over a week to rest and recover before a trip to Reading.

The 1-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday put them level on points with their play-off chasing rivals.

And Williams said the players have remained “solid” to keep themselves in the hunt and echoed Ádám Nagy’s message last week of a team who are working “for each other.”

Defender Williams said: “We played well and kept a clean sheet against Luton, Brentford was a difficult one with myself going early. Then we had Wigan and Barnsley so we can be pleased.

“In possession we could be a little bit better but that’s fine, if we’re not doing that then we want to be solid and we’ve spoken about that, and real team performances.

“It’s not every time we can turn up and play attractive football. It shows the nature of this team and how tight-knit we are that we work for each other.”

City return to action against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday (January 28th, 8pm KO).

Tickets go on sale this week.
