Watkins 'buzzing' with match-winning header

Marley Watkins was the match winner against Sheffield United, with his second goal in as many games.

His looping header from Callum O'Dowda's cross with ten minutes to go was enough to secure the 1-0 win at Ashton Gate today (September 15th).

"It’s a great feeling and more importantly it’s great to get another win. That’s four in four now and hopefully we can go again on Tuesday," he told bcfc.co.uk.

"I remember turning around thinking that it had a good chance [of going in]. I’m glad I got that one because I missed the first chance after a good ball in from Lloydy (Lloyd Kelly). I should have scored that but I kept on getting in there. It was a great ball in the end from Cal (Callum O’Dowda) and I was buzzing to see it go in."

The result, City's fourth-consecutive win, lifts the side up to third in the Sky Bet Championship and Watkins has faith they they keep that momentum going.

"There’s a great team spirit about us," he added.

"We’re playing for each other and the fans are on our side which always helps. It’s been a great four games and long may it continue."
