Zak Vyner has joined newly-promoted Rotherham United on a season-long loan.
The Academy graduate put pen to paper on a new three-year contract at Ashton Gate last week and will now benefit from regular Sky Bet Championship game time at the New York Stadium.
Speaking to bcfc.co.uk, Vyner said: “It was fantastic to sign my new three-year deal at Bristol City last week but this will be a good loan move for me.
“It is a loan spell I am looking forward to and hopefully I can get some some regular game time in the Championship, which will only aid my development for when I return to Ashton Gate.”
This will be the 21-year-old’s third loan spell, having already spent time with Accrington Stanley and most recently Plymouth Argyle.
Vyner will not be eligible to play against City when the teams meet in the 2018/19 season and the club also has the option of a recall in January.
The 21-year-old has made a total of 13 appearances for his boyhood club since making his debut in 2016.
