Video: Bristol City Women Host Sister Club Training Session

Local girls clubs joined City Women ahead of their 3-0 victory over London Bees on Saturday as part of the FA Sister Club Programme.

The FA's new Sister Club Programme launched at the start of the FA Women’s Super League 2016 season.

More than £100,000 has been invested by the FA into the programme, which aims to drive girl’s participation at grassroots level and attendances at FA WSL matches.

Bristol City Women were one of eleven successful bids to run the programme from March to November.

For the exchange of a fee, grassroots clubs can gain access to match tickets, player appearances, coaching sessions led by Georgia Evans, camps, mascot spaces, and so much more.

Portishead Junior FC and Longwell Green Girls FC took part in the coaching session on Saturday, July 23rd at SGS College and were even treated to a visit from Bristol City Women player Corinne Yorston and head coach Willie Kirk.

The young football fans then went on to watch the Vixens beat London Bees 3-0 in the WSL2 match.
