Bristol City Women have signed Vita van der Linden from AFC Ajax Vrouwen.
Van der Linden, 22, started her career in the AFC Ajax Vrouwen Academy before transitioning into the first team squad at the age of 18 and the young midfielder has also featured for Ajax throughout their 2018/19 Champions League campaign.
The Netherlands Under-23 international is looking forward to settling in the city and playing under Tanya Oxtoby.
“I am more than excited to get back on the pitch and start with Bristol City, said Van der Linden.
“The city is awesome, my teammates are so kind and the club has a family feel which makes it a great fit for me. Tanya’s vision and how she want us to play matches my way of thinking and I feel if we can put her vision into play on the pitch we will have a great year.
“Last season was brilliant for the club and I only want to do better, we will fight to be better as a group and I think we can accomplish that together.”

Bristol City Women Manager, Tanya Oxtoby, said: “We are delighted to welcome Vita to Bristol City Women"
"We knew at the start of the year that their was a possibility Julie Biesmans was going to depart this summer to be closer to home, which is something we wanted to support after everything she had given the club during her time here. Knowing this we wanted to be proactive and explore our midfield options and once we identified Vita, we knew straight away she would be a great fit for us both on and off the pitch, so it's fantastic finally be able to officially welcome her on board.”
“She is a very gifted footballer and we are confident this is the right environment to help her reach her potential as a person and player. Her technical and physical capabilities are exceptional, and we are confident she will help develop the style of play we are trying to implement here at the club.”
