Vacancy: City Women head coach

Bristol City Women are seeking a new head coach, on a full-time basis.

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Bristol City WFC is a professional women’s football team, playing in the top league in England, the FA Women's Super League. We are looking for a new head coach to build and maintain a successful first team squad and pursue the club’s vision to “be competitive in the best league in the World, with a squad predominately made up of home-grown players“.

 Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering quality coaching sessions for the first team at Bristol City WFC, following current good practice for elite teams
  • To attend and lead all first team matches
  • Coaching of other teams (eg development team/college team) within the club as and when required
  • Building relationships and knowledge of all players across the club including the first team, Academy team, college team and RTC.
  • Building key working relationships with coaches across all age groups at the club to ensure there is a clear development pathway into the first team for young players.
  • Regular reports and communication with the board on playing matters  
  • Working closely with the assistant coach, GK coach, physio and S+C coach in careful planning of annual training plan, off-season, pre-season and during the season training sessions
  • Recruiting a playing squad within the budget set out in agreement with the board and within the salary cap.
  • Identifying potential players and working with the club Secretary and general manager on recruiting
  • To represent Bristol City Women’s football as required in the media and at public events in a professional manner
  • Motivating players to create a successful and positive team and club culture
  • Line management of the technical staff team
  • Developing and overseeing a continuous professional development programme,  for coaches and support staff involved within the club.
  • Ensuring the club adheres to the FA standards for safeguarding children.
  • To ensure that the club adheres to the FA rules and regulations and competition rules.
  • To ensure that the club adheres to Respect guidelines.
  • Maintain positive relations and regular contact with key England International staff (head coach/director of elite development/relevant age group coaches and player performance staff).

You will have:

  • UEFA ‘A’ License minimum.
  • FA Youth modules 1,2 &3
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • It is desirable that the candidate also has category D1 on their driving license or a qualification that permits the driving of minibuses
  • A professional approach, presence and appearance
  • Basic First Aid for Sport (or willingness to undertake training provided by the club)
  • Experience of working with elite female players and developing young players
  • Ability to manage and work within a budget
  • Working knowledge of women’s football and its developing nature.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop key effective working relationships.
  • Ability to act as a role model for the club at public events and within the media
  • IT literacy and ability to use outlook, word, excel and powerpoint

We would also like you to have:

  • Experience of the international game and European football
  • Experience of working with match analysis and scouting reporting systems
  • Experience of line management of staff
  • Working towards your Pro Licence
