City Under-23s picked up a point on the road at Millwall.
Neither side could forge a breakthrough in the Professional Development League contest, played at Dartford FC.
Luke Williams had more than enough chances to win the contest and will feel aggrieved they failed to return to Bristol with all three points.
Rory Holden saw a header saved in the first half and Opi Edwards - who recently made his debut for the first team - struck the post with an effort.
After the break Jake Andrews' dangerous corner was hacked off the line, before late chances for substitute Cameron Allen and another recent senior debutant Connor Lemonheigh-Evans.
"It was a big improvement on last week (5-1 loss to Coventry)," said coach Alex Ball. "We created a lot of opportunities and were unfortunate not to come away with a victory."
City Under-23s: Wollacott, Ali, Plavotic, Bakinson, Parsons, Baldwin, Edwards (Akpobire), Lemonheigh-Evans, Hinds (Semenyo), Holden (Allen), Andrews. Subs not used: Richards, Sesay.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
