U23s await Premier League Cup draw

The likes of Liverpool, Everton and Southampton await City's U23s in the last 16 of the Premier League Cup.

City have already beaten the Reds in the group stage, which also included wins against Stoke and Charlton Athletic.

The draw for the first of the knockout rounds of the Premier League Cup will take place tomorrow morning (Thursday, March 1).

The ties will be tweeted from 10am via @PLYouth, with the hashtag #PLCup.

The teams City could face in Thursday's draw are:

  • Derby County
  • Middlesbrough
  • Blackburn Rovers
  • Southampton
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • AFC Bournemouth
  • Newcastle United
  • Swansea City
  • Aston Villa
  • Sheffield United/Ipswich Town (depending on the outcome of Sheffield United’s postponed Group E fixture against Aston Villa)
  • Leicester City
  • Everton
  • Liverpool
  • Exeter City
  • Brighton & Hove Albion

All knockout ties, from the last 16 through to the final, will be one-off matches. If the teams are level after 90 minutes, they will be decided by extra-time and then penalties if there is still no winner.

City's run in the Premier League Cup group stage:

  • W 3-1 v Stoke
  • L 0-7 v Liverpool
  • W 1-0 v Charlton
  • D 3-3 v Stoke
  • W 1-0 v Liverpool
  • v Charlton Athletic (rearranged for March 7th)
