U23s and U18s set their pre-season schedule

A busy pre-season for City Under-23s and Under-18s includes five friendly fixtures, a cup final appearance, a tour to Edinburgh and a friendly tournament hosted at SGS College.

Their pre-season fixtures commence tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm), with the Under-23s taking on Chippenham Park away at Hardenhuish Park.

Chippenham finished eighth in the Toolstation League Division One last season and will be looking to press on and push towards the top of the table in their next campaign.

On Tuesday, July 18th a joint Under-23 and Under-18 squad heads off on tour to Edinburgh for five days. While they’re out there, they will each play two matches - opposition to be confirmed.

After they arrive back in Bristol, the Under-18s have two days off until their friendly tournament starts on July 25th, with Oxford United, Falkirk and SGS College Academy providing the opposition.

Their next fixture comes on July 29th against Odd Down FC.

Meanwhile, the Under-23s have a break of four days without a game upon their return from tour, facing the Armed Forces at home on July 27th.

This will give Luke Williams' side a good opportunity to boost their preparation ahead of the GFA Senior Challenge Cup final on Wednesday, August 2nd, where they face Cirencester Town.

This final is from the back end of the 2016/17 campaign and gives the Under-23s the chance to get their hands on a second set of silverware after winning the Central League Cup (South).

After the GFA final, the Under-23s have two more fixtures at Taunton Town's Viridor Stadium and at home to Swansea City.

Kick off times and final venues for the home fixtures will be posted in the coming days.
